"Honda Cancels Three EVs, Posts First Annual Loss"

"Ford, along with most global automakers, have faced a reckoning with
their burgeoning EV programs, as tariffs make production costlier and the
end of the federal tax credits killed off demand for battery electric
cars. Stellantis posted a substantial $26 billion loss for 2025 and
intends to scale back its EV ambitions. Similarly, Nissan is far from a healthy company, with its CEO going so far as to not rule out selling the entire company. Following in their footsteps is Honda, which just
announced an end to its American EV program and a pivot to hybrids, in addition to a major financial loss.

The Honda 0 Saloon Concept at the 2025 CES Show.

Honda announced earlier today that it decided to cancel three North
American EVs - The Honda O SUV, O Sedan, and Acura RSX. The company cited
a presumed lack of demand and long term inability of the vehicles to
generate profit as the reasons for their cancellation. All three had been
in development but were planned to enter production at the automaker's Marysville, Ohio assembly plant. As a result, the automaker says it will
post upwards of $16 billion in losses, including about $7 billion for the current fiscal year, which will represent the company's first-ever loss
in its history. The company initially delayed its EV roadmap last spring
as it sought to evaluate anticipated demand for its future lineup.

"In light of the recent slowdown in the growth of the EV market in the
U.S., Honda will reassess its resource allocations and further strengthen
its hybrid models. As for regional business, in addition to its main
markets, namely Japan and the U.S., Honda will enhance the model lineup
and cost competitiveness in India, where market expansion is expected. In other countries in Asia as well, Honda will strive to enhance its competitiveness by introducing next-generation hybrid models and
reassessing the allocation of its resources," said Honda in a press
    release.

Honda's EV rollback comes after Ford majorly scaled back its own future roadmap, killing off the Ford F-150 Lightning and a fully electric van in favor of the upcoming midsize EV pickup and five "affordable" models, including an all-new pickup truck due out by 2030. Additionally, the Blue
Oval decided to write off $19 billion as part of its paradigm shift."

The loss is an asset write-down, not an operating loss. It's
industry-leading hybrid models will sustain the company for years to come.

    Conservatives champion independence,

    Honda are "conservatives"?

Free verse leftard rhetoric, showy but signifying nothing.
