• More evidence [from Apple!] that the pitiful RAM in iPhones is hampering it's functionality

    Just as iPhone batteries are laughably puny, so is iPhone RAM where we've discussed that Apple's 1% to 3% RAM efficiency can't overcome a 200%
    difference in RAM to modern Android phones (where RAM is plentiful).

    This article says it outright that the cheap crappy lack of RAM in iPhones
    is a key determinant in why those iPhones can't run Apple's AI algorithms.
    *Apple¢s Johny Srouji confirms all iPhone 16 models have 8GB RAM*
    <https://9to5mac.com/2024/09/13/iphone-16-ram-apple-intelligence/>
    "Srouji explained that Apple Intelligence was one of the reasons
    for the RAM increase"

    Apple has always cheaped out on RAM & batteries in the iPhone, but AI is forcing Apple's hand on the RAM (while the EU forced Apple on batteries).

    Apparently you don't know what "one of" means.

    Isn't RAM on-demand memory used for the OS and apps to perform current operations rather than storage memory used for junk?

    We've had this discussion many times, where a 1% to 3% increase in RAM efficiency can not compensate for a 100% to 200% decrease in total RAM.

    It just can't.

    Those (like nospam) who claim it can, have to break the laws of Physics,
    which only Apple appears to be able to do, based on Apple's ads anyway.

    To back up that point, you'll notice that the link in the OP shows Johny
    Srouji confirmed that the paltry RAM in most iPhones can't even run AI.

    But it's *more* than AI functionality that the anemic RAM in most iPhones can't handle - it's all memory-intensive functionality that are hurt.

    Apple has *never before* (until now!) put modern amounts of RAM in iPhones. This has *hurt* iPhones like you can't believe - due to Apple's cheapness.

    Finally - after cheaping out on RAM since iPhones were designed, Apple
    admits openly that the lack of RAM in the iPhone prevents functionality.

    You hear it *directly from Srouji's mouth* so you have to believe it.

    Yes. Of course. I'm well versed in the FACTS about Apple's use of RAM, Tom.

    I have more Apple devices than Android, so please don't play the game that most of the Apple posters do, which is assume people don't know both sides.

    Rest assured, I remove all possible bloatware from _both_ platforms, Tom.

    Hence, I'm well aware that there is plenty of "junk" on both platforms.

    What's *different*, is it's trivial to remove all the junk you want on
    Android even without being rooted - while it's impossible to do with iOS.
    <https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/>

    You can't even get close to doing on iOS what you can do on Android, Tom.

    <https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254804759?sortBy=rank>
    etc.

    Even so, to your desperation point about defending Apple's paltry RAM....

    For the few adults on this childish Apple newsgroup, Apple advertises "more efficient RAM" (which we found to be true), but get this, the efficiency is only in the 1% to 3% range (maximum!) according to tests we discussed.

    So let's all agree that the iPhone is up to 3% more efficient on RAM.

    I realize the child-like Apple religious zealots interpret that to mean it doesn't matter how much RAM an Android has, Apple will always win on RAM.

    That's absurd.
    Yet, it's how the Apple nutjobs think.

    They don't know math.
    A 3% efficiency in RAM use cannot overcome a 200% deficiency in RAM.

    It's absurd for the Apple herd animals to make such ridiculous claims.
