I know probably nobody here is into the series, or cares about how it
went downhill in recent years. But it's back in a big way, and shit
    tons of fun.

It will be interesting to see what sorts of mods (ahem "experiences")
get developed with the tools they've provided for "portal".

I may have difficulty finding a reason to load any other games in the
    near future.

I love it when I can play it. My internet connection is unstable
because I have Starlink. Even if I turn off my VPN, it will not
continue if it does not detect an internet connection.

I have only been playing the single-player campaign and have no desire whatsoever to play multiplayer/on-line. I know, that is what it is,
but playing off-line is fine with me. Just can't play the game when I
want. Need to exit it and hope it finds and internet connection the
    next time I start it.

I really should get a refund but I think I have played it too many
    hours now to get one.

I wonder if I would love it if I had newer hardwares, times, etc. I
loved BF1942 & BF2 over Call of Duty (up to #4's Modern Warfare) for multiplayer games.

It feels a little faster and deadlier, for lack of a better way of
explaining it, than many of the games in the past series, where the
intensity feels ramped up a bit, and not everyone is happy about it...

...but this has more to do with the size of some of the initial launch
maps. Some long time BF players complained about it feeling too
COD-like in the open beta and they made some tweaks that helped quite
a bit in the actual release.

The important thing though is that this is a good game (for those who
like the BF formula that is) right out of the gate. Compare that to
BF2042 which came out 4 years ago. Playing it just pissed me off, no
enjoyment whatsoever, so I just left it alone for years. I bought it
again about a year ago, Elite Edition for around $15 I think? As I
played it I was kind of amazed... they somehow managed to make it fun
    again.

So the important thing here is the relative comparison... things with
all games (not just BF franchise) haven't been perfect on release for
a long time. But BF2042 completely sucked, even the whole sci-fi
premise was kind of stupid and not really what BF was ever about...
but yet they managed to shape it up into a pretty good BF game that
appealed to long time BF players, and at a price point that nobody can
    bitch about.

So, BF6 is off to a WAAAY better start, and that seems like a good
    start.

More maps are coming in a few days.. not only that, but it has
"portal" which encourages a lot of user-community built mods to the
game. Should be years of replayability with lots of interesting stuff
showing up in portal even beyond the game itself.
