• FREE GAMES: "Nightingale" and "Firestone"

I really should have an item on my calendar reminding me of this silly
Thursday freebies. I mean, you'd think I might remember on my own,
what with my having announced them weekly for the past few years, but
every week they seem to sneak up on me and I have to rush out these
posts. One day I'd like to be more prepared.

Ehn. Maybe I'll start that next week.

    * Nightingale
    https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/nightingale
On the one hand, Nightingale is an "open world survival
crafting game" which, just... ugh. I mean, don't we have
enough of those already? But on the other hand, it's got
all these creepy, giant monsters wandering about (It reminds
me a lot of "Generation Zero", except with Cthulhu-esque
critters instead of killer robots). It's quite pretty too,
but the reviews are not kind. I think this one will end
up as library-clutter; a game I'll happily grab but never
    play.

    * Firestone Online Idle RPG https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/firestone-online-idle-rpg-bfd04b
Meh. It's free-to-play garbage designed to rope you in
so you spend lots of money on MTX. Just say no, kids.

Say what you will, but while I may be in a rush to get these
announcements out the door, still I manage to do so on time! See you
    in two weeks, everybody!

I always forget so hopefully you never do.

I must have said yes because this one is already in my library.

Don't worry. If ever I miss an opportunity to do a FREE GAMES
announcement, you can be sure Ant or rms will make up the slack.
They're always nipping at my heels, trying to get those
    ever-so-valuable Internet Points;-)

Heh. I'm happy to say it wasn't in my library before, and it still
isn't in the library now. See? I _can_ resist clicking that button!
    Not often... but sometimes. ;-)
