What did you play last month :P

Am I too early to start this question for August 2025? Is it
    September
    1st, 2025 anywhere yet? ;)

I refuse to answer to anyone but master. Nice try, imposter.

Bah. I need to overthrow him.

I also played a short amount of Ultima V. It's like Ultima IV with
fairly ridiculous copy protection. Until I find a way to list the
spells I have concocted, I'm shelving it. It seems that if I don't know
what spells I have they will not be available when I need them most.

I played and completed Ultima V awhile back. I am pretty sure the game
does tell you what spells you have in one of the menus and also how
many you made. It has been awhile though, so I may be mistaken.

The only thing about the spell system that annoyed me was having to
make spells one at a time. I remember wanting the full 99 spells so I
had to sit there mixing the reagents one by one by one.......

It does indeed! You need to use the "Stats" (Z key) feature, then
press the arrow keys to navigate to the appropriate screen. (You get
two screens per character in the party, then the equipment screen,
then reagents, then readied spells, followed by items and remaining
inventory. But it does loop, so if you have a big party just press
left arrow three times to get to spells ;-))

Actually, that was one of the things that attracted me to the game.
Well, not the 'having to make 99 spells', but the idea that you'd have
to prepare/mix the spells to begin with. It lifted the game out of the
arcade, where spells were essentially just big guns that you could
    fire at will.

It was also one of the earliest forms of crafting in games...

Also, if you're not playing Ultima V with the fan-made upgrade patch,
you really should be. Improvements include slightly better visuals,
music, a cleaner way to exit the game, and a variety of game fixes.

I've seen a bunch that were done in photoshop from years ago that were
    much better than this too.

    Here's one with a lot:
