Back in 2021, Amazon announced an intention to build a
state-of-the-art data centre in West Auckland. That site still stands
    empty.

Today, Amazon’s NZ manager Manuel Bohnet was joined by our PM,
Christopher Luxon, to announce that Amazon has launched a data centre
full of actual servers in NZ, today. Only they won’t say where these
servers are, or whether they are actually Amazon’s own servers or are
    they using somebody else’s machines.

They still own that empty site in West Auckland.
