That is key to the premise. They want Christians and men and cis folks, straight folks and the wealthy... their chosen people... to have rights others do not. They want to push their own views onto others. They want to deny the poor basic needs even if they are poor from being disabled or being vets or
the like. They equate wealth with moral character. They tend to deny man-made global climate change no matter the evidence, they push idiotic trickle down even though it is horrible economic policy. They want to invest in the rich -- getting back 70 cents on the dollar -- instead of investing in the poor where the economy has a huge benefit ($1.40 or better on the dollar). On and on and on. This is just key to the differences. Or, as I have written before:

Keep in mind the main differences between liberal and conservative world
views:

* Liberals: support equal rights and environmental protection, with a focus on investing in the future and building a stronger tie between productivity and financial reward.

Liberals want evidence-based regulation and oversight to help ensure clean air and water, safe food, and human rights. This includes following the scientific evidence about climate change and food safety, and things like setting levels of lead and other harmful substances allowed, and even to wanting to do research to reduce the harm of tools such as cars and guns and swimming pools. This is a form of control, and conservatives are right to note that. And they are right to note that sometimes these measures are taken too far.

* Conservative: support special entitlements for whites, Christians, males, heterosexuals, those in lower populated states, and the wealthy, with a focus on redistributing wealth to the very richest in the nation with the idea that this will somehow help others.

Conservatives want regulation and oversight based on their own feelings and what they believe has historically existed (which is often incorrect), or even just based on their own religion. Liberals are right to call conservatives out on this also being a form of control and, I think, a less defensible one.

Yet we know the economy does better under Democrats (not that they are perfect -- they are not... and are also paid for and beholden to the rich). But we
know investing in the poor gives an excellent return to the economy where investing in the rich is a huge loss.

I care about what is right... not about who claims to hate me on Usenet. They do not really care one way or the other about ME... they hate that they cannot defend their own views. White supremacists and the like, deep down, know their views are indefensible and cognitive dissonance makes them angry. That is not personal and I do not take it so. And, unlike most right wingers, I care not one whit about the tribalism and scapegoating they live their lives by.
