Veera: An Arrow Head of Action is a 2011 Telugu-language action comedy film, produced by Ganesh Indukuri under Sanvi Productions banner and directed by Ramesh Varma. It stars Ravi Teja, Kajal Aggarwal, and Taapsee Pannu, with music composed by S. Thaman. The cinematography was performed by Chota K. Naidu and the film was released on 20 May 2011. The film had completed 50 days in 60 centres[citation needed] and a 100-day run at the box office according to Zee 24 Gantalu.[1] The film was released in Tamil as Veeraiyaah, in Hindi as The Great Veera in 2012 and also in Malayalam as Veera[2] in 2017 it was also in Bhojpuri as Veera. In 2021, Manish Shah from Goldmines Telefilms redubbed the movie in Hindi under the same name.

In May 2011, Karthi began working in the political comedy film Saguni, directed by Shankar Dayal and featuring him amongst an ensemble cast of supporting actors.[58] He played Kamalakannan in the film, a villager who comes to the city to save his palatial house in Karaikudi from being destroyed for a politician's personal gain and unknowingly transforms to become a kingmaker in Tamil Nadu politics. The film opened to mixed reviews from critics, and became a box office failure.[59] Karthi dubbed for himself for the Telugu version of Saguni (2012) and his since dubbed for the Telugu dubbed versions of all of his films.[60][61] He later appeared in the 2013 Pongal release Alex Pandian, opposite Anushka Shetty, which also opened to negative critical response upon release.[62][63]
Director K. Viswanath compared the duo Bapu and Ramana to "technically perfect and smooth Rolls Royce".[36] Novel of the film based on the screenplay was released in 2012.[37] Rediff included the film in their list "Top Five Telugu Films of 2011".[38]
It was released to 92 screens across Hyderabad, breaking the previous record set by Oosaravelli (2011) which was released to 70 screens. Prasads IMAX screened 33 shows on the release day.[55] The film's Tamil dubbed version, also titled Businessman, was released on 7 December 2012 to 200 screens across Tamil Nadu.[56][57]
