• Messages not packing?

I've noticed that my messages bases are creeping up past the max (1000) number of messages I set in SCFG.

I'm using Hyper Allocation, don't know if that makes a difference. I just ran smbutil mp *.shd in one of my data directories, saw it reading and acting on all of my messages, and then, when done, I still have messages over 1000 in my group listing.

For example, this message base has 1162 messages.

    Am I missing something here?

Make sure you have a event set up to maintain your messagebases. In the stock SBBS configuration, there's a timed event called MSGMAINT that does this. Is it there? Enabled?
