On the wiki page it mentions for the guest account options in logon.js that i can change options to false to exclude asking guest for full name, email address, location, city state, and referral. I set all these to false and the guest is still being asked these questions.

You set them to false where, exactly?

    Is there another location I
need to adjust to stop asking these questions. I do not offer options for guests other than viewing what they could use if they register. I really do not want to know any other information on guests. Any tips would be appreciated.

The guest_* keys can be set to false in the [logon] section of ctrl/modopts.ini to disable those questions. I'm not sure what you did.

In the logon.js, but i read where it was for the logon of a new user and not a guest so I changed them back. What I changed was not affecting anything I use anyway. You are right about the modopts.ini. I read the wiki and was curious if I could add options for the guest account in modopts.ini for the guest account. I would prefer not to collect any personal info on the guest and just have it available for other features to work. I was able to remove the 'guest' as a choice for login but it is still available to other parts of the BBS to use. Thanks for all the help.

Okay, so you've now reverted your changes logon.js and disabled the guest questions successfully via modopts.ini?

No Sir, I added in the modopts.ini under Login GUEST_NAME = FALSE, GUEST_EMAIL=FALSE, GUEST_LOCATION = FALSE, GUEST_REFERRAL = FALSE, and it changed nothing. In the notes in modopts it mentions ;If you find than an expected section or key is not present, add it. so i tried anyways. I will keep studying and maybe I will figure it out in time. I am keeping original copies of these files in the mods section in case I goober something up. So far no changes effectively made and no problems either. I am also trying to get the manditory email requirement removed from the web side registration application 000-register.xjs. I did get the * removed from the field notating it was manditory. LOL. I even deleted the section asking for the email address but it keeps demanding a valid email be input even with that section deleted. I have reached out the echicken on this. I do have SCFG set to not ask for an email address at all and the telnet side works great. Thanks for checking in on me.

No Sir, I added in the modopts.ini under Login GUEST_NAME = FALSE, GUEST_EMAIL=FALSE, GUEST_LOCATION = FALSE, GUEST_REFERRAL = FALSE, and it changed nothing.

Upper case key names will not work in that example. You must use the key names as documented (lowercase) at https://wiki.synchro.net/module:logon

In the notes in modopts it mentions ;If you find than an
expected section or key is not present, add it.

The stock ctrl/modopts.ini file already has a [login] section: https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/blob/master/ctrl/modopts.ini
... so you shouldn't have to add a section, just the keys (with the proper spelling/case).
