    Does anyone know why the third doctor episode Ambassadors of Death is
    in B&W when the previous episodes of the Silurians was in color?

    Because the colour version was wiped in the seventies. All that were left
    were a black and white film, and some NTSC tapes of bad quality from North America. Efforts at colourization have been met with some success, but the restoration is taking a longer time than expected. So far, no release date
    has been given for the DVD.

    Only black and white exists in the archives. Colour restoration is
    timely and costly. No known date for colour
    restoration.
