The NY MTA published a very detailed study on its "G" line. It includes things
such as where trains should stop on the platform and where benches should be so
as to even car loading. Since the train uses one person crews, CCTV cameras would have to be
relocated if stopping location is changed.
Anyway, I recommend this document and its appendices for review, not so much for the G line, but to see what is involved in service planning.
