    Anyone used Free Pascal yet?

    It seems to be a good free and open source Pascal language. Even does some of the old Turbo Pascal language in it. Just object support is limited. Should be good for learning Pascal and it is cross platform.

    Tons of people have been using it for years :) AFAIK, there are even some BBS programs that have been "on the market" that were written using it nad those have been around for years, too, so this is really nothing now :)

    Free Pascal is 100% Turbo Pascal compatible and if their Delphi compatability isn't 100%, it's damn close. They also support a number of different CPUs beyond x86.

    I know, I use it off and on here myself alongside Delphi 7. Have been for years (started using the OS/2 version of it when it was first available).

    yup... i do old style coding with it and then am also working on learning new style GUI stuffs using the Lazarus RAD frontend for FPC ;)
