Hello everybody!
I am having an issue connecting to an IP address. For some odd-ball
reason my OS/2 system cannot resolve applewoodbbs.linkpc.com, so I'm
using its actual IP address in my binkd.cfg file like so:
node 2:25/21@fidonet 82.30.228.138:24555
What comes back is:
+ 18 Mar 09:09:01 [33615] call to 2:25/21@fidonet
+ 18 Mar 09:09:01 [33615] getaddrinfo failed: hostname nor servname provided, Any ideas on how to get around this issue? I'm sure I'm configuring this wrong. -- Thanks in advance, Marc

you are connecting to a wrong hostname.
in my cfg it's not .com, it's applewoodbbs.linkpc.net
node 2:25/21@fidonet 82.30.228.138:24555
What comes back is:
+ 18 Mar 09:09:01 [33615] call to 2:25/21@fidonet

you are connecting to a wrong hostname.
in my cfg it's not .com, it's applewoodbbs.linkpc.net
Also a good idea is to use "*" as a backup, even if you define the
address manually.
Like:
node 2:25/21@fidonet applewoodbbs.linkpc.net;*
telnet://bbs.roonsbbs.hu:1212 <<=-
