    Thanks for the suggestion but the website is on a hosted Windows server.

    If I had a /29 subnet at home there is a solution involving Pfsense that I've considered which could in theory solve most of the problems.

    This is how I block by ASN on linux (Just giving you the info, not going into Linux/WIN etc wars).

    Note: The for i in.... is all one line, with upto the ending ;

    ipset -N unifiedlayer hash:net

    for i in $(whois -h whois.radb.net -- '-i origin AS15169' | grep "^route:" | cut -d ":" -f2 |
    sed -e 's/^[ \t]*//' | sort -n -t . -k 1,1 -k 2,2 -k 3,3 -k 4,4 |

    do ipset -exist -A unifiedlayer "$i"

    You might try splitting that big line by using \:

    for i in $(whois -h whois.radb.net -- '-i origin AS15169' \
    | grep "route:" | cut -d ":" -f2 | sed -e 's/^[ \t]*//' \
    | sort -n -t . -k 1,1 -k 2,2 -k 3,3 -k 4,4 \
    | cut -d ":" -f2 | sed 's/$//') ;

    That makes things much easier to read and all of that parses into a single line.

    Yeah but those always come from another place.
    for example that lordlegacy archive is probably from me. i got it from Preslar. Same with bbsfiles. I got that from the source(not the website).

    People have taken my stuff all the time and not given credit when i put work Into it like organizing or fixing problems.

    So if you put it out there, people are going to rip if off and stamp their name on it. That's why pcmike from thebbs.org stopped giving people full access to download stuff off his ftp server. the darktech.org guy took it and made a Clone site. Pcmike put a lot of work into building his file archive and spent Money calling all over the country.

    Oh you guys are just talking about LINKS and not files?

    That's kinda petty. That's not the last version of the lordsite btw.
    The last version had the link for 4.08 up at the top.

    you guys should rip the site with httptrack and change the archive.org url so it shows the original site without the wayback header.

    Anyways, same thing goes. You put it out there and people will "steal it" and stamp their name on it. Sysops are always in it for themselves.

    give "Anubis" a try?

    Well if you are going to have a server on the internet you should run it
    with some muscle. Years ago i moved all my bbses and websites to ovh. It's just stupid to host stuff at home. A watchful eye is helpful for a lot of attacks, I've tried all kinds of filtering options. There's always something That's going to hit you day and night.

    offline for a long time, I replace the URL with an archived one. That's how I > found out Sunrise Doors folded like 2 months after the fact.

    In any case, it's more likely StingRay found the info from my site since we're compadres in this hobby. Not everything is about you :P

    you two burro banditos should just create a mirror of the lordlegacy site Instead of just linking to archive.org's capture of the site.

    compadres in this hobby. Not everything is about you :P

    I dunno, found it VERY odd it was the same day. There are lots of days archived there and it just happened to be some random one I picked, as the day before and after (day captured), looked the same.

    After about 31 years in bbsing i'm always seeing these patterns.
    Hey i have to have a bbs with 200 doorgames.
    Hey i have to have a bbs with all the msg networks.
    Hey I have to have a bbs with all the possible bbs files.
    Hey now i have to have a website with all the bbs lnks.

    Meanwhile 20 other guys are doing the same thing.

    now there's almost no users and it's been like that for several years.
    Are we in purgatory?
