Iran's government aircraft, an Airbus A340-300, may have been destroyed in airstrikes on Tehran Mehrabad Airport. The Israeli Air Force reports this via X.

It is believed to be the aircraft with registration EP-IGA. The A340 had been at Mehrabad since February 22, after the aircraft performed its final flight from Kerman that day.

The report has not been confirmed by the Iranian side. Neither the military nor the government has yet responded. It is also unclear whether the aircraft was completely destroyed or merely damaged.

The aircraft was used to transport high-ranking officials, including former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei. Additionally, it was deployed for the transport of delegations and military purchases.

According to Aerospace Global News, the Iranian government fleet further consists of an Airbus A321-200 and two BAe Avro RJ85s.

The A340 was put into service by the Iranian government in September 2015. The aircraft previously flew for Air Canada, Air Jamaica, Turkish Airlines, AirBlue, and Asian Express Airline, among others.
