Episode was OK. I enjoyed the various France gags for the most part but the plot - its resolution in particular - was a little stupid. Very short still. Not a fan of that. Also, act 3 was under 2 minutes, which has to be among the shortest (non-vestigial-act-4) acts ever.
DYN:
...another opening sequence wrinkle now (Lenny says "uh oh" as he falls)?? ...apparently no "Snakes on a Plane" reference when Lisa discovers it?
Previous episode stuff
CABF21: Burly Paper Towels in the billboard in the opening
5F10: Jay Leno appears again (as himself)
3F17: Acting as courier for free travel (and see below!)
7G13: Cesar and Hugolin from all the way back in season 1 appear throughout as Homer's contacts in France
Marge's list of other bad vacations (marked with ? if I'm unsure it's the one they meant):
2F13: Australia
DABF10: Brazil
AABF20: Japan
EABF22?: London
GABF06?: China
3F17: "That World's Fair Bart drove to" (which seems to be included almost solely because of the courier plot)
BABF09: The land of the underground jockeys (even less a "vacation" than the Wod Fir)
2F01: Itchy & Scratchy Land
RABF15?: Outer space
Slight update in Sam Simon EP saga for completion
VABF08 repeated on 5/8 and, like its premiere, listed Sam.
VABF03 aired for the third time on 5/1 and, like its second airing, also listed
Sam (the premiere did not).
Fun fact I forgot to mention two weeks ago
VABF12 (Fland Canyon) premiered on 4/24/16. There are almost 600 episodes now, and apart from the summer and some holiday seasons, there are still a few days on the calendar that have never seen a Simpsons episode premiere; now 4/24 finally has!
