I vote for Elex.
Sure the gameplay is a bit iffy and the graphics are dated, but it is
a sci-fi re-interpretation of the old Gothic games, and that's good
enough for me.
OOh! Well, now another one to get, being a huge Fallout fan. $33 on >sale on steam right now. Very tempting. I wasn't too much into Gothic >though, so I'm not too sure.
This might not be the game for you. The game's world is open (and
often as wonderfully unforgiving) as Gothic's, and has a similar
classless leveling mechanic, which allows you to mold your character
to your play-style. The jetpack is great and makes exploring a lot of
fun. But its combat is also very reminiscent of Gothic 3 (with its
awful propensity for stun-locking you to death) and it looks like it
is using the same 10-year old graphic engine. Its story isn't much to
write home about either, and while its world is nicely interactive its
NPCs aren't very well fleshed out.
If you enjoyed the Gothic series, Elex is great. But if Gothic - and especially Gothic 3 - were not your cup-o-tea, then Elex is not going
to win you over.

Now it's on sale for 16.49
More tempting.
