• PCBoard 15.3 source v0.009

Compiles and works. Archive includes compiler and library for building.

    v0.009:

Fix lib\build.bat to run on real DOS.

This is the final patch for the CDC build system, a big unwieldy
mess. I created an entirely new build system that's modular and
consolidates lib and main under one design. It's quick and easy
to use when you need a few modules to have debugging symbols for
testing; the executable is too big to run if every source module
    is built with debugging symbols.

The #pragma inline reorganization from v0.008 was removed, I'm saving it
for future development. Now, v0.008 and v0.009 comprise two build fixes accumulated since v0.007.

Thus v0.009 is the last stable release, before I tear things apart with
    the new build system.

i just tried to download it and couldnt. I would not call myself a beginner either. :( Looks like you need to find a different hosting solution. How about i set up a forum section dedicated to pcboard?? Just a thought.

To download from 4shared, set up a free account. If you won't do that,
    you're not trying very hard.

    it was pplc not building.
bunch of undefined in scrnmisc.cpp I think.
but it works fine in your build tree.
    altmodem and some other stuff.
one note. Why does it want the pcboard toolkit library?
wasn't that released for outside addon developers?
but I guess that was sold way before the whole sourvce license was availbile.

    For pplc. As changes.txt says:

    007
Revised and simplified the pplc build. Copied pcbkit_l.lib from
pcbxdot\toolkit3\pcbkbc_l to pcbsrc. The pplc build now uses it
to supplement lib, instead of independently building the objects
    from lib.

Building pcbkit_l.lib from source is a job for later, the source
files appear to be scattered among lib and util (see 000).

That's why I used the existing library instead of trying to rebuild it.
It's a lot of work to get all those errors fixed, and there are bigger
    fish to fry.

Like improving the fossil support, so it can run on a multitasker. I've
got it working on DESQview and Windows 3.1. It just needs to be more
CPU friendly, so you can run about 4 nodes, without one node hogging the
    CPU.

Now, v0.008 and v0.009 comprise two build fixes

    accumulated since v0.007.

Thus v0.009 is the last stable release, before I tear things apart with

    the new build system.

I tried netfoss but didn't like it. To screen out telnet hacker probes,
you have add their ip addresses to the filter list. But that's useless, because the probes constantly change ip addresses.

I wrote a telnet proxy that screens out the probes automatically. But
you need a separate linux box to run it, it's written in Perl.

    hmm,
I am disacembling the special pcbkit_l.lib with borlands tlib.
seems just to be the developers toolkit compiled into a library.
but the files seems to want lib h files and some pcb h headers too.
also, I did find other copies of the library toolkit too.
versions 2, 3 and 3a and 3b. but they just contain objs and librarys and some dev docs.

Learning more about it may prove useful at some point.

But for me, it's a low priority. I don't mind using toolkit library
objects provided by CDC. As long as they work, I don't see a need to
    recompile them from source.

For me, the main thing was getting pcboardm.exe built from source, so
the source can be used to fix the bugs. And the next thing, is to make
    it more CPU friendly.

now with the main exe and the pplc compiler, err compiling we can make mods to the ppl system.
I was thinking of trying to add the new 15.4 ppl functions so we could run the 15.4 ppes. but not the compiled ones thou, since we don't know how clark encrypted them. that was going to be to defeat the pirates from decompiling ppes. but some smart programmers did defeat those decompiles anyway. made it so the decompiled ppe could not be recompiled. bob Watson said something about algorimic math.
even I have seen invalid varibles that wont recompile. but it was easy to see what those did and fix them so they recompiled.
like one variable called ---. so I had to search for it and rename it abc or something. works now.
