Microsoft© Windows© and .NET applications. Bringing back the popular Turbo™ moniker, the new Borland Turbo products offer low-cost, language-specific rapid

application development capabilities for students, hobbyist developers, occupational developers as well as individual professionals.

The Turbo product set includes Turbo Delphi© for Win32, Turbo Delphi for .NET©,

Turbo C++© and Turbo C#©. Each version will be available in two editions: Turbo

Explorer, a free downloadable version, and Turbo Professional, a version priced

less than $500 which is designed to accept thousands of available third-party tools, components and plug-ins. All Turbo editions enable developers to rapidly

In 1983, Borland revolutionized software development with one of the first PC development environments, Turbo Pascal©, which helped make the commercial development of PC applications possible. The new products revive the popular Turbo brand and provide users with a simple but powerful development environment that combines quick and easy learning with rapid productivity gains.

"The brand is classic, but the technologies and capabilities in the new Turbo editions are leading edge," said Michael Swindell, senior director of product management for the Borland Developer Tools Group. "There are three categories of user for the Turbo products: the student or individual who is learning programming, the individual professional or hobbyist programmer, and the non-programmer who has that great idea they've been wanting to bring alive. Nem tanto... estou baixando agora, pelo que entendi, confirmado
pelo amigo Cantu (ex-sysop), ele instala sim o suporte a .net,
necess rio nao aos prgs desenvolvidos mas para a pr¢pria IDE...
(que m*, achei que livrava isso)

Sao dois arquivos, 228mb de pre-requisitos e 325mb do pr¢prio.

De qq forma, disse que a interface ficou leve como o D7, bem
melhor que o D2005. Vou brincar com ele depois e conto mais.

De fato, instala toda a tralha .NET, mesmo sem desenvolver para ele.
E ficou mais espertinho sim. Mas a versao -gratuita- nao tem coisas
de 3os algumas b sicas como tspinedit e tchart (tamb‚m nao tem rave
report, indy, etc...). A Pro tem esses recursos, e o pre‡o (nos EUA)
cai dos $1090 do Delphi Pro completo (pacotao Delphi VCL/W32 .NET e
C#) para $390. Sem descontos de upgrade, ‚ produto "novo"

Mas o legal ‚ isso, tem a versao gratuita que resolve bem muita
coisa, e a versao paga limitada a uma s¢ linguagem/ambiente ficou
com pre‡o mais justo, abaixo da metade do anterior.
